Welcome to Lazarus Brass Ensemble Berlin
For 40 years, the Lazarus Brass Ensemble has thrived in the heart of the capital city. Established in 1983, our ensemble comprises 12-18 brass players ranging from mid-20s to mid-80s, gathering every Thursday for rehearsals at the Lazarus Foundation's premises in Berlin-Mitte.
Back on October 18, 1983, the then-State Trombone Supervisor, Bernhard Schneider, visited Lazarus House Berlin to play music with some Deaconess Sisters, staff, and friends. Shortly before, they had formed a small brass group and sought support. This initial rehearsal with the State Trombone Supervisor marks the founding date of the Lazarus Trombone Choir.
Fast forward four decades, and theLazarus Brass Ensemble still convenes at the same location for rehearsals. In the grand hall of the Lazarus Foundation in Berlin-Mitte.

Our Music
Striving to tread new paths while honoring the roots of classical trombone music, we embrace various musical genres. From chorales to the works of old masters to jazz and contemporary entertainment music, our repertoire knows no bounds. We play what resonates, challenges us, and occasionally pushes our musical boundaries anew.
